QA/QC Supervisor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

This position is responsible for the following: Other duties may be assigned. 

  1.  Supervises and reviews all Quality Control inspectors as assigned and will perform Field Inspections, as needed as well as review the preparations of Inspection Reports and Sketches. 

  1. Ensure all inspectors complete and document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste and submitting to the appropriate parties within the times established by the SOW/Contract 

  1. Preparation and maintenance of Contract Quality Records and technical requirements. Resolution of quality issues. 

  1.  Assures that the Project Quality Plan is implemented and followed on site. 

  1. Conducts ongoing visual inspection of all installations onsite throughout the project duration. 

  1. Maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results. 

  1. Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. 

  1. Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor. 

  1. Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work. 

  1. Coordination with Production, Customers and Third-Party Surveyors as required. 

  1. Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. 

  1. Manages and Records quality issues 

     

Required Education & Experience: 

  1. High School/GED preferred. 

  1. At least six year of Quality Control / NDT and/or NACE experience in supervisory position in fabrication shop or Shipyard. 

  1. Additional AWS-CWI certification preferred 

Working Conditions: 

  1. Open-air conditions such as noisy, hot, cold, as well as in an office-controlled environment. 

  1. Must wear hearing, eye, head protection and proper PPE. 

  1. Some climbing (10-15 feet) and lifting (50 lbs.) involved. 

  1. Traverse gangways and scaffolding at varying heights while wearing fall prevention equipment-When required by company or customer policy  

  1. Working with hot and sometimes hazardous materials. 

  1. In confined spaces. 

  1. The work may require standing on a variety of surfaces and at differing angles, bending over, crouching, and climbing up and over obstructions such as scaffolding, ladders, and internal barge and boat structural members.  

Necessary Equipment Operation: 

  1. General inspection measuring and testing equipment. 

  1. General Computer skills  

Special Skills: 

  1. NDT and/or NACE Skills preferred. 

  1. Level 2 VT, certifications MT & PT to be earned at a later date to be negotiated at time of hire. 

  1. Knowledge of Welding Materials and Codes/Specifications preferred NAVSEA experience preferred 

  1. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and understand codes/specifications, sketches, and technical manuals. NAVSEA experience preferred 

  1. Ability to work under deadlines and schedule pressures. 

  1. Strong Organizational skills as well as Strong Management Skills with demonstratable experience. 

  1. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 

  1. High performance and a strong team player. 

  1. Commitment to company values, policies and procedures and safety program.
