Overview and Purpose

Gulf Copper LLC is currently seeking an Information Technology Manager. The IT Manager will oversee all aspects of IT operations, infrastructure, and including a strong focus on cybersecurity best practices. This position requires extensive expertise in Microsoft 365 GCC-HIGH and Azure Government environments, with demonstrated knowledge or familiarity in supporting compliance efforts related to DoD cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST 800-171 and CMMC.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the following: Other duties may be assigned.
  1. Overseeing the installation, maintenance, and security of hardware, software, and networks.
  2. Develop, implement, and maintain IT, procedures, and documentation to ensure operational consistency and regulatory compliance.
  3. Oversee the administration and optimization of Microsoft 365 GCC-HIGH applications (SharePoint, Outlook, Intune, Teams, etc.) and Azure Government cloud services.
  4. Ensure IT infrastructure and systems comply with DoD cybersecurity standards, including NIST 800-171 and CMMC.
  5. Demonstrated ability to translate complex IT concepts for non-technical senior leadership.
  6. Managing IT budgets and negotiating with vendors for services and ensuring system integrity.
  7. Overseeing the installation maintenance, and security of hardware, software, and networks.
  8. Effectively communicate IT initiatives, risks, and project progress to senior management.
  9. Deep understanding of network security components, including firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protections.
  10. Monitor system performance, conduct audits, and proactively remediate vulnerabilities or performance issues.
  11. Availability for on-call support outside regular business hours may be necessary.
  12. Support integration of IT systems with operational technologies related to marine vessel repair and refurbishment.
  13. Coordinate IT support activities to ensure timely resolution of end-user issues.

Required Education & Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or equivalent professional experience (master’s preferred).
  2. Five (5+) years’ experience in IT Management experience, preferably in environments with DoD contracts or regulated industries.
  3. Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and best practices to protect organizational IT assets and data.
  4. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  5. Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft 365 GCC-HIGH suite (SharePoint, Outlook, Intune, Teams, etc.).
  6. Demonstrated knowledge or familiarity in implementing and maintaining compliance with DoD cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST 800-171 and CMMC.
  7. Strong project management, strategic planning, and cross-functional team leadership skills.
  8. Proficiency in documentation management, including policies, procedures, and technical diagrams.
  9. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments to align IT initiatives with business objectives.
  10. Currently hold a DoD security clearance or capable of getting a DoD security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Familiarity with Laserfiche document management systems.
  2. Experience with Acumatica ERP or similar financial/operational software.
  3. Knowledge of Fortinet firewalls or comparable network security appliances.
  4. Exposure to or familiarity with the maritime industry.
  5. Understanding of IT asset management practices and tools.
  6. Experience with endpoint detection and response (EDR) and security monitoring solutions.
  7. Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery technologies.
  8. Familiarity with cloud cost management and optimization.
  9. Experience with remote access and secure telework technologies.
  10. Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, or Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals are advantageous but not mandatory.

Working Conditions:

  1. Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer, and to attend meetings at various sites.
  2. Mobility to climb up and down stairs all day, as needed.
  3. Health, transportation and family arrangements to attend work every weekday and work on the weekends, as needed.
  4. Strength to lift and carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
  5. Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, including the ability to look at a computer screen for at least eight hours each day.
  6. Hearing and giving speeches to communicate in person and over the telephone.
  7. Regular exposure to all weather conditions, especially hot, humid and/or rainy weather, combined with regular work time indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
