The role serves as the technical authority for ERP architecture and works closely with IT Business Systems, business process owners and liaisons, Information Security, infrastructure teams, and implementation partners to translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and supportable solutions.

This position combines architecture with execution. The successful candidate will be expected to actively participate in solution design, integrations, data migration, technical troubleshooting, implementation, and continuous improvement rather than functioning solely as an advisory architect.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for the following: Other duties may be assigned.

ERP Architecture & Technical Leadership:

  • Own the overall technical architecture and roadmap for Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and its surrounding ecosystem.
  • Define architecture standards and design patterns for ERP integrations, interfaces, extensions, data, reporting, identity, and security.
  • Evaluate proposed Oracle configurations, extensions, customizations, and third-party solutions for architectural fit and long-term supportability.
  • Ensure ERP solutions align with broader enterprise IT architecture, cybersecurity, integration, and data strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify the ERP landscape, reduce technical debt, and eliminate unnecessary customizations or fragmented solutions.
  • Serve as a senior technical escalation point for complex ERP and integration issues.

Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP:

  • Provide technical architecture leadership across Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP modules and capabilities.
  • Guide the design of integrations between Oracle Fusion and financial, supply chain, operations, project, HR, quality, and other enterprise systems.
  • Provide technical oversight for Oracle Fusion APIs, interfaces, extensions, reporting, security, and data exchanges.
  • Support implementation, migration, testing, cutover, stabilization, upgrades, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Work closely with Oracle and implementation partners to review technical designs and resolve complex issues.
  • Help ensure that ERP implementation decisions remain scalable and supportable as the organization grows.

Integration & Data Architecture:

  • Design and govern integrations using APIs, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), middleware, file-based integrations, and other appropriate integration patterns.
  • Establish standards for interfaces, data flows, error handling, monitoring, and system dependencies.
  • Develop and maintain architecture documentation, integration diagrams, and system dependency maps.
  • Support master data and data architecture decisions in partnership with Business Systems and business process owners.
  • Ensure ERP integrations are resilient, maintainable, appropriately secured, and operationally supportable.

Business Systems Partnership:

  • Partner with IT Business Systems resources to translate functional requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Work with designated business liaisons and process owners across Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Projects, Quality, HR, and other functions.
  • Provide technical guidance while maintaining clear accountability between business process ownership and IT system ownership.
  • Facilitate technical design discussions that balance business value, implementation speed, security, maintainability, and long-term architecture.
  • Help evaluate requests for new functionality and determine whether requirements should be addressed through configuration, integration, extension, or changes to business processes.

Security & Technology Governance:

  • Incorporate security, identity, access control, data protection, resiliency, logging, and compliance requirements into ERP architecture.
  • Partner with Information Security and Cybersecurity teams to ensure ERP solutions meet organizational security requirements.
  • Support architecture appropriate for regulated environments, including CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, DFARS, ITAR, and other applicable requirements.
  • Participate in technical design and architecture reviews for ERP-related systems, integrations, and significant changes.
  • Ensure implementation partners and vendors follow established IT architecture and security standards.

Implementation & Delivery:

  • Lead technical workshops with business teams, IT teams, Oracle, vendors, and system integrators.
  • Review solution designs, integration specifications, technical configurations, and implementation proposals.
  • Perform hands-on technical analysis and troubleshooting when necessary.
  • Identify architectural and implementation risks early and develop practical solutions.
  • Support testing, deployment, cutover, stabilization, and transition to ongoing operational support.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to Business Systems and other IT team members.

Required Education & Experience:

Required:

  • Significant experience in ERP architecture, solution architecture, enterprise applications, or related senior technical roles.
  • Strong experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP environments.
  • Demonstrated experience designing ERP integrations with other enterprise applications.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, middleware, data integration, identity and access management, cloud platforms, and enterprise security.
  • Experience supporting complex business processes across areas such as Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Projects, Manufacturing, or Operations.
  • Experience working with enterprise ERP implementations, migrations, upgrades, or transformation programs.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into practical technical designs.
  • Experience working with system integrators, software vendors, and implementation partners.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment and move between architecture and hands-on execution.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and Oracle Fusion integration technologies.
  • Experience with Oracle REST/SOAP APIs, FBDI, BI Publisher, OTBI, and related Oracle technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Entra ID.

  • The position requires extended periods of sitting, computer use, technical analysis, documentation, virtual meetings, and communication with business teams, IT teams, vendors, and implementation partners.
  • Occasional visits to shipyard, production, warehouse, or other operational areas may be required. Must comply with applicable safety requirements and wear designated personal protective equipment in those areas.
  • Business travel may be required on an as-needed basis to support implementations, integrations, migrations, testing, cutover, stabilization, or company operations.
  • Occasional work outside normal business hours may be required to support deployments, cutover, upgrades, troubleshooting, or other time-sensitive ERP activities.

Necessary Equipment Operation:

  • Computer, laptop, mobile phone, and standard office equipment.
  • Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), Oracle REST/SOAP APIs, FBDI, BI Publisher, OTBI, and related Oracle technologies.
  • Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, middleware, integration, data, reporting, documentation, diagramming, testing, monitoring, and collaboration tools.
  • Standard personal protective equipment when entering designated operational areas.

Special Skills:

  • This is a hands-on technical leadership role, not a purely strategic architecture position.
  • The Principal ERP Architect should be comfortable moving across: Business Requirement → Functional Design → ERP Architecture → Integration & Data → Security → Implementation → Operational Support
  • The ideal candidate combines deep Oracle Fusion expertise with broad enterprise technology knowledge and a strong bias toward execution. The role is expected to challenge unnecessary complexity, make sound architectural decisions, solve difficult technical problems, and help carry solutions through implementation.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
