COMP EX Electrician/Location GOM Borr Odin
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the following: Other duties may be assigned.
Perform electrical repair and maintenance such as assemble, install, test, or maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures for onshore and offshore facilities.
Perform Ex Hazardous area management survey.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical components, systems, and equipment.
Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
Read sketches or follow blueprints.
Use power equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.
Required Education & Experience:
Minimum of High school graduate or G.E.D. preferred.
Good knowledge in a range of NEC, IEC codes, standards and ATEX directives.
Must be CompEX Certified (Ex hazardous area management trained)
Experience/knowledge of electrical circuitry.
Industrial and/or marine Electrical experience preferred.
At least 4 years work experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
Fluent in English, spoken and written.
Maintain current electrician's license to meet governmental regulations (if applicable).
Working Conditions:
Some climbing (100 feet) and lifting (50 lbs.) involved.
Traverse gangways and scaffolding at varying heights while wearing fall prevention equipment.
Working with hot and sometimes hazardous materials.
Aboard floating vessels to include fixed platforms, both on and offshore facilities as well as confined spaces.
Must be able to stand and operate equipment up to four continuous hours.
The work requires long periods of sitting in awkward positions, standing on a variety of surfaces and at differing angles, bending over, crouching and climbing up and over obstructions such as scaffolding, ladders, and internal barge and boat structural members.
Necessary Equipment Operation:
Operation of volt/ohm meter, amp meter, megger, and voltage recorder.
Various hand and power tools.
Forklift
Manlift
Special Skills:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings and technical manuals (i.e.: electrical schematics.).
Perform basic mathematical functions.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
High performance and a strong team player.
Capability to coordinate work with supervisors, and other foreman.
Ability to work under deadlines and schedule pressures.
