This position is responsible for the following: Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop and implement a robust change management framework tailored to the Arctic Security Cutter (ASC) shipbuilding project.
- Lead and facilitate the review, approval, and prioritization of change requests.
- Evaluate the impact, cost, and risks of changes on project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Collaborate with data managers, design, engineering, production, and project management teams to ensure seamless integration of approved changes.
- Maintain detailed documentation of change requests, decisions, and implementation plans.
- Provide regular reports to stakeholders on the status and impact of changes.
- Establish and maintain a Change and Configuration Management Plan (CCMP) aligned with industry and contractual standards.
- Manage configuration baselines, ensuring all technical data, documentation, and designs are accurately recorded and controlled.
- Develop and maintain a tool to oversee the system for tracking all configuration items (CIs).
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with configuration control policies and standards.
- Manage the traceability of changes to ensure alignment with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on configuration management tools and processes.
- Act as the central point of contact for all change and configuration management activities within the shipbuilding project.
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risks.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and contractual obligations.
- Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on change and configuration.
- Work effectively with others within a Project Team environment and in accordance with the Integrated Master Schedule for the project.
- Fully support the Configuration Control Board (CCB) drafting plans, agenda’s, helping functional leads present change proposals and documenting decisions
- Lead the planning and execution of configuration audits including the FCA and PCA
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in change and configuration management within large-scale engineering.
- Experience working on shipbuilding projects would be preferred.
Working Conditions:
- 1. Regular exposure to all weather conditions, especially hot, humid and / or rainy weather, combined with regular work time indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
Special Skills:
- Strong knowledge of industry standards for configuration and change control.
- Proficiency with configuration management tools (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter, Windchill, or equivalent).
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and facilitating decision-making processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, word and excel specifically.
